Barokowe arcydzieło w Polsce „Armida. Piotr Krzyżanowski. Warszawska Opera Kameralna kupiła wehikuł czasu i przeniosła nas do 15 lutego 1686 roku. Na scenie paryskiego Théâtre Royale wystawiono wtedy Armidę, ostatnie dzieło słynnego, barokowego duetu, kompozytora i librecisty, czyli Jean-Baptista Lully’ego i Philippe’a Quinaulta. Polska prapremiera Armidy odbyła się 5 listopada 2017 roku. Inscenizacja arcydzieła francuskiego baroku jest identyczna jak ta z XVII wieku. To dziś rzadkość. Współcześni reżyserzy operowi próbują, czasem na siłę, uwspółcześnić dawne dramatyczne dzieła muzyczne. Raz im to wychodzi, raz nie. Rzadko zaś mamy do czynienia z rzeczywistą rekonstrukcją, a nie tak modną dziś dekonstrukcją dzieła. Tym razem w Warszawskiej Operze Kameralnej postawiono na wierność interpretacyjną, zarówno muzyczną, jak i sceniczną. A wszystko dzięki światowej sławie choreografowi i znawczyni muzyki barokowej Dedzie Cristinie Colonnie. Warszawska „Armide” to imponująca rozmachem międzynarodowa produkcja. Orkiestrę Musicae Antiquae Collegium Varsoviense poprowadził australijski dyrygent Benjamin Bayl, efekty multimedialne i oświetlenie zaprojektował włoski scenograf Francesco Vitali, a reżyserii i choreografii podjęła się jego rodaczka – Deda Cristina Colonna. Spektakl wzbogacił prowadzony przez Karin Modigh szwedzki balet Nordic Baroque Dancers skupiający się na rozmaitych projektach choreograficznych opartych na muzyce XVII i XVIII wieku.
